Paul is the strongest man who lives in the village at the foot of Popo Poco Volcano. He has a sister named Mint.

During a festival in his village, Paul challenges Tien Shinhan. However Krillin, who wants to impress Mint, fights Paul first and defeats him with a headbutt. When Popo Poco Volcano erupts, he and his sister try to make the elder of the village move, but the elder refuses to leave. He was thankful when the village was eventually saved by Krillin, Yamcha, Chiaotzu, and Tien.
