Kaigaku was a demon slayer in the Demon Slaying Corps, and Zenitsu Agatsuma's senior disciple under Jigoro Kuwajima.

He became a demon to save his own life and became Upper Moon Six of the Twelve Demon Moons, replacing Daki and Gyuutarou.
